Dear Friends,
On April 4, many of you came to our tailgate launch of the online organ donor registry, and many others sent regrets but promised to register online. Your compassion and support for this cause has been immeasurable--until now. We just got official numbers, determined by zip code from registrants during that time period. They are astonishing:
- 150 of you signed up at the Qualcomm event
- 1500 San Diego donors signed up during the media blitz Friday through Monday
- 18,000 Californians registered during the same 3 day period across the state
You are life givers, all of you. John and I were overwhelmed to see so many of you, and now know that your support did not end there. In speaking to others about your decision, you created a registry that by that Monday night had the potential to save 1572 lives and improve the lives of thousands of others. Please accept our gratitude, and keep talking about a cause which, like you, we hold dear.
